2013 Morgantown International Festival to be held Sept. 27

2013 International Festival FlyerCelebrating our Inclusive Community

The International Festival is held annually at WVU and is sponsored by the Office of International Students and Scholars in partnership with BoPARC, the City of Morgantown, and the Greater Morgantown community. This year’s festival will be held at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Park on Friday September 27, 2013 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The event is organized to facilitate awareness of the diverse cultures of the world as represented by our international community on campus with our hosts, the Morgantown community. The Festival promotes the sharing of knowledge about various cultures by way of information booths, arts and crafts, entertainment, and a taste of international cuisines as showcased by our international student population.  Local schools and residents are invited to attend.

We would like to request your presence at this year’s International Festival. Our goal is to have all represented countries on campus participate, as well as local restaurants and eateries, serving up ethic flavors. See information tables at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Park, performances on stage, art and craft activities representative of all cultures, or proudly represent your country.

Why Attend?

  • Find out more about our country’s roots by exploring the cultures of our international residents
  • Taste International Cuisine from Mexico, Italy, China and beyond
  • Awards: World Champion International Festival Exhibit Award for the best information booth and performing act

If you can’t participate, come visit for a taste of all of Morgantown’s cultures.
