The Visit Mountaineer Country CVB strives to increase the tourism economy by marketing and selling the destination to our guests by “wowing” them and encouraging them to stay one more night and spend one more dollar.

Main Street Morgantown
Main Street Morgantown (MSM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the continued revitalization of downtown Morgantown and the Historic Wharf District. Downtown Morgantown is an attractive, clean, safe center of commerce, government and education.
Main Street Morgantown is a “grass-roots” organization which works primarily in the areas of historic preservation and economic development.

The Metropolitan Theatre
The Metropolitan Theatre is a historic staple of Downtown Morgantown, located on High Street and constructed in 1924. There is a long impressive playbill that testifies to the history of the building. Acts that have come through include Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Helen Hayes, Vaudeville, among others. Currently, West Virginia Public Theater and West Virginia University host drama productions, dance recitals, graduation ceremonies, and many more community activities.

Just a Short Drive from Morgantown...
If you're looking for more out of your trip to the city, there are several landmarks that are just a short drive from Morgantown.
Head East to Deep Creek Lake and spend the day on the water, or even on the slopes if your visit is during the colder months. On your way East on I-68 you'll find the beautiful Coopers Rock State Forest where you can hike some of the most scenic trails in the state or take in a beautiful mountain top view of Cheat River at the Coopers Rock Overlook. If you're looking for even more adventure, head to Chestnut Ridge Park or West Virginia University ADVENTURE Zip-Line Canopy Tour.
Head West of the city to find Mylan Park just off of Interstate 79, or Launch Pad Trampoline Park in Westover.
Ski Resorts Wisp, Canaan Valley and Snowshoe Mountain Resort are all within driving distance of the city.
The City of Pittsburgh can be reached in less than two hours by following Interstate 79 North and don't forget to head to our neighbor to the south, West Virginia State Capitol Charleston, by starting out your drive on I-79 South and reaching your destination in less than three hours.
