The Morgantown Police Department is taking part in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Beginning at 10 a.m., the Morgantown Police Department will have officers stationed at the Kroger shopping centers on Patteson Drive and Earl Core Road to collect unused, unwanted or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications from the public. Items such as needles, asthma inhalers, thermometers and illicit drugs will not be accepted.
The DEA sponsors this event twice a year to educate and engage the public in the proper disposal of medications. Take Back Day is promoted by the DEA as an opportunity to counter the climbing drug addiction and overdose rates in America.
