On Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at approximately 6:41 p.m., officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to a report of disturbance in the area of the South High Street Bridge involving a female and two male subjects. Upon arrival, officers found that one of the males involved in the altercation had been stabbed several times to his upper torso. Officers provided emergency medical assistance and called EMS to respond.The victim was identified as Justin Mueller, 37 years of age of Springfield, West Virginia, was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his wounds.The officers were able to identify Juan TRECHSEL-VALERIO, Hispanic Male, 36 years of age of Morgantown, as the suspect. TRECHSEL-VALERIO is described as being approximately 5’ 11” tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. TRECHSEL-VALERIO fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.On Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 at approximately 10:08 a.m., officers were dispatched to Sheetz, located at 1012 University Avenue, because TRECHSEL-VALERIO was inside of the store. Officers arrived on scene and placed TRECHSEL-VALERIO in custody without incident at that time. TRECHSEL-VALERIO was processed and transported to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office where he is being held until his arraignment.
