[ARCHIVED] Morgantown Police Respond to Fatal Vehicle Accident

At approximately 2:42 p.m., officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Grafton Road at the intersection with Scott Avenue.

Upon initial investigation, officers determined that the driver of a silver BMW was traveling north on Grafton Road and attempting to turn left onto Scott Avenue. The driver of the motorcycle was traveling south on Grafton Road. The vehicles collided as the BMW crossed the south bound lane. The collision resulted in the driver of the motorcycle being thrown from the motorcycle.

Officers on scene, as well as EMT’s, attempted to provide medical intervention to the driver of the motorcycle, but were unsuccessful. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The driver of the BMW was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital. The crash is still under investigation.
