Morgantown Communications Department Announces City Rebrand Project
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The City of Morgantown communications department has started establishing the foundations of a city rebrand, including a new logo and seal.
"Morgantown is growing rapidly and has become a key moving destination for many families and up-and-coming businesses. We, as a city, believe that our city logo and branding need to evolve with these changes to better represent Morgantown as a city and where our community wants to go in the future," said Director of Communications, Drew Bailey.
"Even as our brand changes, we are striving to highlight our city's historic character visually and through storytelling," Bailey continued. "The new look and feel will represent a commitment to excellence and to the purpose of providing outstanding service for all people and businesses."
The communications department will be conducting outreach through social media to help with providing input and feedback throughout the process.
"We believe that community members need to be involved in the project to retain the voice and soul of the brand," said Bailey.
All community members are encouraged to participate through the city's social media platforms or by contacting their city council representatives.
All of the city's new marketing, communication, branding, and public relations efforts are being handled internally. Completion and rollout of the new brand elements can be expected by the end of this year.
Though new brand elements will be finalized by the end of the year, implementation of these elements may span over the following year.
