Republic Services to Adjust Pickup Times Amid Willey St. Construction
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Due to the WVDOH’s ongoing road construction on Willey Street, Republic Services has coordinated with the City of Morgantown to adjust the hours of solid waste and recycling pickup in affected areas.
Republic Services will still service affected areas on their regularly scheduled days, but crews will now arrive before the WVDOH’s construction begins for the day.
Republic encourages residents to leave their containers out and curbside the night before their designated service day, as crews could arrive as early as 3:30 a.m. for pickup.
“Solid waste and recycling pickup is integral to our city’s infrastructure,” said City Manager Kim Haws, “so it’s incredibly important that we ensure this service is uninterrupted throughout the duration of the Willey Street construction project.”
The WVDOH begins their work at 6 a.m. every weekday. They are expected to complete the Willey Street project by November 17, 2023.
