City of Morgantown Begins Comprehensive Plan Adoption Process
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - In accordance with the West Virginia State Code §8A-3-6, the Morgantown Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed Comprehensive Plan Update, dubbed Morgantown 2033, at their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 6:30 p.m.
Due to renovations at Morgantown City Hall, the meeting will be held within the Commission Chambers in the Monongalia County Courthouse, located at 243 High Street in Morgantown, WV.
An electronic copy of the Morgantown 2033 Comprehensive Plan is now available for review on the City of Morgantown’s website. Hard copies of the plan are also available for review in the City’s Development Services office, located at 430 Spruce St., and the Morgantown Public Library, located at 373 Spruce St.
Any written comments regarding the plan may be sent to Development Services Director, Rickie Yeager, at 430 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV 26505 or by email to morgantown2033@morgantownwv.gov.
On August 10, the City of Morgantown facilitated a public meeting at the Wiles Hill Community Center to collect the public's feedback on the draft Comprehensive Plan update before it was finalized for review and adoption. Over sixty members of the public were able to attend the meeting and provide their feedback.
The Development Services Office would like to give special thanks to everyone who has participated in the planning process to date. This includes the Morgantown City Council, Planning Commission, Morgantown 2033 Steering Committee, and everyone who participated in a stakeholder interview, attended a public meeting, or took a survey to provide input. It is greatly appreciated.
