Monongalia County Launches App to Keep Public Informed

MORGANTOWN, WV – Monongalia County Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency and MECCA 9-1-1 has launched a free app for your smartphone that will allow residents the opportunity to easily access public information and warnings for Mon County. The app will also have links to view current traffic situations, weather, and links to other emergency service agencies.

“We’re very excited to offer this to the community. Many people rely on the internet and their cellphones to receive information. With this app we are capable of sending push notification and users won’t have to search for information we distribute to the community” said Mike Wolfe, Director of Monongalia County Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency & MECCA 9-1-1.

Currently the app is only available to Apple product users by searching MCHSEMA in the app store. A Google based app will be launched in the near future.
