BOPARC Senior Center at Wiles Hill

The Wiles Hill Community Building, located in the Wiles Hill-Highland Park Neighborhood, is also home to the BOPARC Senior Recreation Center. The Center is a great place for senior members to gather, enjoy a cup of tea, a game of billiards, or simply spend time with friends. A group lunch is offered every Wednesday at Noon along with a wide variety of activities that help keep the community and seniors active and well.  For more information on activities and membership rates, visit the BOPARC website.

The BOPARC Senior Recreation Center is beneficial to the over-55 population of West Virginia offering programs in exercise, dance, and the arts, while also providing recreational trips, nutritional meals and many other activities.



Please be advised that all Senior Center and Community Building Memberships must be in good standing (not expired) to receive discounted class and activity fees. As of February 2nd, 2015 all members not in good standing will no longer receive the discounted class/activity fees for members. A listing of all class/activity fees along with membership fees are listed below with the applicable member and non-member rates. Please stop by the reception desk in the main lobby to have your picture taken for your new membership card. All members must have one to access the facility.

Membership Fees:

Senior Center Membership 55+ – Renewal    $10 per year/per person (Expired less than 30 days)

Senior Center Membership 55+ – New Member  $15 per year/ per person (New member or expired more than 30 days)

Community Building Membership (18-54) – Individual  $70 per year/per person

Community Building Membership – Family  $120 per year/Family of 4
(Families must reside in same household/each additional family member $15 per person/per year)

WVU Greenhouse & LuncheonLet’s have a bite of lunch, and then shop for some beautiful vegetable plants and flowers. The date for this trip is Friday, May 6th 2016. Transportation cost is $5. Time: 12:00pm. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

Memories to Memoirs Journaling– It doesn’t matter if you’re a famous politician, suburban homemaker or someone in between, the fact of the matter is that everyone has a personal story worth telling. “Memories to Memoirs” will meet once a week at 1pm for 6 weeks starting March 1st. Per-registration is required. Cost: $6

Plant & Flower Swap– Do your flower beds need thinned out? Do you have any seeds you’d like to trade? Then this is the perfect opportunity for you. Bring your houseplants, flowers, herbs, seeds, ETC to lunch with you. Date: Wednesday, May 18th.


AARP Drivers Safety Courses

A 8-hr refresher course will be held Wednesday, August 10 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
