Tips for Starting Your City Council Campaign

The Morgantown City Clerk’s Office is offering some tips for residents who would like to run in the 2017 City Council Election.

Whether you are planning for a campaign as a candidate, as an existing organization, or as a group of citizens who want to support or oppose candidates, making good decisions about handling finances is an important first step. This document gives a basic list of important tips and decisions, with detailed rules explained in the Campaign FAQs portion.

Candidates can begin their campaigns after filing their 75 signatures and the appropriate paperwork in the City Clerks Office.

The Municipal Election will be on Tuesday, April 25.
