WV Senators to Present Funds to Main St Morgantown Saturday Morning

On Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 8:15 a.m., WV Senators Bob Beach and Roman Prezioso will be making a presentation to Main Street Morgantown for the Morgantown Market Place and the downtown Farmers’ Market at the corner of Fayette and Chestnut Streets (Daniels Parking Lot). The funds are from the Governor’s Community Participation Project/Economic Development.

With this and other funding the Morgantown Market Place has become a reality. The open-air pavilion which is under construction and will protect the produce, vendors and people attending the market, which will boost attendance. The pavilion is being built on the Spruce Street parking lot where the Morgantown Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday from May though November. The Morgantown Market Place will be used not only for the Farmers’ Market, but for other community events.

Over 550 individuals, companies, community organizations and others contributed to this great community project. Donations are still being received on this project. Main Street Morgantown is a non-profit organization dedicated to the continued revitalization of downtown Morgantown and the Historic Wharf District. Main Street Morgantown began in January 1984.
