Morgantown Police Department Logo

The Morgantown Police Department has established an anonymous telephone line for citizens to report suspicious or suspected criminal activity.

Citizens who wish to report information without speaking to an officer or dispatcher may now leave information on a voicemail. The phone number for the new TIPS Line is 304-284-7520. Detectives will receive and follow up on reported information as appropriate.

The TIPS telephone line is not manned, and callers can only leave voice mails. So, it is imperative that anyone needing immediate police assistance or reporting any kind of crime in progress should call 911.

The TIPS line will be used in conjunction with the Citizen Request Tracker that is in use on the City of Morgantown website. Anyone wishing to utilize that service to submit information may do so at

The Morgantown Police Department is committed to its goal of eliminating crime in our city.  Citizens are encouraged to become a “Partner in Policing”, by reporting suspected criminal activity to Morgantown Police Department Switchboard at (304) 284-7522. If you need immediate Police attention or a crime is in progress call 911.
