[ARCHIVED] Suspect Identified in Shooting

At approximately 12:35 p.m. on December 12, 2018, officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to Ruby Memorial Hospital for a report of a shooting victim undergoing emergency medical treatment. Officers found that the victim had been shot multiple times and was brought into the hospital by friends. The victim was identified as Derrick Hamlet, 24 years of age of Morgantown. Hamlet was treated for his wounds and hospitalized.

Officers and detectives initiated an investigation and as a result found that the victim had been shot inside of 619 Brockway Ave. and that the incident was not reported to 911.

Officers identified Imani CODY, AKA “TRUMP”, 21 years of age of Detroit, Michigan as the suspect in this case.  CODY is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged to contact 911 immediately.
