[ARCHIVED] Morgantown Police Alert Residents of the Distribution of Literature in Support of Hate Group

News Release Logo v2 - FB

In the wake of the recent attack on a Mosque in New Zealand, many residents of Morgantown and the surrounding community have received small sandwich bags filled with birdseed and literature in support of the Ku Klux Klan.

It appears as if the materials were thrown onto porches and lawns from a passing vehicle. The phone numbers and the organization listed in the materials is based out of Reidsville, North Carolina.

Law Enforcement in several states and communities are aware of the recent dissemination of these materials as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The recent activities do not appear to be targeted at any one person or community and are widespread.

Anyone who has received these materials may simply throw the item into the trash. The Morgantown Police Department has collected dozens of these items already.

If anyone observed the vehicle or can describe anyone who is distributing this information, they are encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agency.
