UPDATE: Morgantown Police have given the all clear. The ruptured gas line has been shut down and the area of Krepps Street is now safe.
ORIGINAL: At approximately 9:10 a.m., officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to a report of a gas leak at 1141 Krepps Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that construction crews working at a private residence struck an unknown gas line.
Morgantown Police are working with the gas company to shut down the gas line. As a precaution, Morgantown Police have evacuated Suncrest Middle School to a safe location and informed residents in the area to go to a safe location. The public is asked to stay clear of the immediate area until the all clear is given by the Morgantown Police Department.
