Public Works Offering Christmas Tree Pickup and Drop-Off Service
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The City of Morgantown Public Works Department will be offering a Christmas tree pickup and drop-off program from January 3rd through the 17th.
Trees must be free of all decorations and lights to be eligible for drop-off and pickup. String lights may be recycled once they have been removed from the tree and placed in a bag.
Pickups will occur on a ward-by-ward basis; each ward will have its Christmas trees picked up on a specific day of the week. The designated day for each ward is listed below, along with a map for reference.
Alternatively, residents can call the City Garage to schedule a pickup. In addition to pickup service, residents can drop off their trees and old lights at the City Garage until the 17th of January.
Trees will be donated to the West Virginia DNR to enhance fish habitat in Cheat Lake, Tygart Lake and Jackson's Mill. Lights will be recycled at a local electronics recycling vendor.
Call the City Garage at 304-291-7465 to schedule a Christmas tree pickup.
