IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to renovations at Morgantown City Hall, all City Council meetings will be held in the Monongalia County Commission Chambers located on the second floor of the Monongalia County Building at 243 High Street.

Unfinished Business:
  • An Ordinance providing for the Zoning Reclassification of certain parcels of Real Estate in the Seventh Ward of the City of Morgantown, Tax District 15, Tax Map 55, Parcel 92, from PRO, Professional, Residential, and Office District to B-2, Service Business District amending Article 1331 of the Planning and Zoning Code of the City of Morgantown as shown on the exhibit hereto attached and declared to be a part of this Ordinance as if the same were fully set forth herein
    • This ordinance would change the zoning for property on Van Voorhis Road to B-2, which would allow more business uses than the current PRO zoning. The Planning Commission reviewed the property owner’s application to change the zoning and recommended that City Council approve.  City Council voted in favor of the ordinance on first reading.

Passed 6-0. Second Reading.

  • An Ordinance providing for the Zoning Reclassification of certain parcels of Real Estate in the Seventh Ward of the City of Morgantown, Tax District 15, Tax Map 55, Parcel 93, commonly known as 699 Burroughs Street, from PRO, Professional, Residential, and Office District to B-2, Service Business District amending Article 1331 of the Planning and Zoning Code of the City of Morgantown as shown on the exhibit hereto attached and declared to be a part of this Ordinance as if the same were fully set forth herein
    • This ordinance would change the zoning for property on Van Voorhis Road, next to the property in the previous ordinance, to B-2, which would allow more business uses than the current PRO zoning.  The Planning Commission reviewed the property owner’s application to change the zoning and recommended that City Council approve.  City Council voted in favor of the ordinance on first reading.

Passed 6-0. Second Reading.

  • An Ordinance Amending the FY 2022-2023 Annual Budget of The City of Morgantown as shown in the revised budget attached hereto and made a part of this Ordinance as the same applies to the General Fund
    • This ordinance amends the revenue allocations in the City’s general fund to properly allocate City funds as we near the end of our fiscal year on June 30.

Passed 6-0. Second Reading.

  • An Ordinance Amending the FY 2022-2023 Annual Budget of The City of Morgantown as shown in the revised budget attached hereto and made a part of this Ordinance as the same applies to the Coal Severance Fund
    • This ordinance amends the revenue allocations in the City’s coal severance fund to allocate higher than expected revenues in this category as we near the end of our fiscal year on June 30.

Passed 6-0. Second Reading.

New Business:
  • A Resolution Authorizing Application for a Transportation Alternative Program Grant for Morgantown Municipal Airport Streetscape Design
    • This resolution asks City Council to allow application for $750,000 of TAP Grant funds to build sidewalks and lighting from new sidewalks on Mileground Road to connect to the Airport terminal.  TAP grants usually commit 80% federal funds and require a 20% local match.

Passed 6-0.

  • A Resolution Authorizing Application for a Transportation Alternative Program Grant for Chestnut Street Streetscape Design
    • This resolution asks City Council to allow application for $250,000 of TAP Grant funds to design new streetscape including sidewalks and lighting on Chestnut Street downtown. TAP grants usually commit 80% federal funds and require a 20% local match.

Passed 6-0.

  • A Resolution Authorizing Application for a Transportation Alternative Program Grant for Spruce Street Streetscape Design
    • This resolution asks City Council to allow application for $400,000 of TAP Grant funds to design new streetscape including sidewalks and lighting on Spruce Street downtown.  TAP grants usually commit 80% federal funds and require a 20% local match.
