CORRECTION: "Morgantown 2033" Open House Set for August 10

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The City of Morgantown will host an open house in cooperation with Rhodeside & Harwell on August 10, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. to discuss a draft update to the City's comprehensive plan, dubbed "Morgantown 2033."

The open house will take place inside of the gymnasium at the Wiles Hill Community Center, located at 287 Eureka Dr. in Morgantown, WV. On-site parking is available.

The basis of the open house is to collect the public's feedback on the draft Comprehensive Plan update before it is finalized for review and adoption by the community.

The community will be invited to review a series of graphic boards that will be dispersed across the gymnasium. These will summarize the content of the plan draft. Members of the public will be encouraged to review these and provide feedback based on their thoughts.

“Our upcoming open house will be a great opportunity for the community to learn more about the draft plan update before it advances into a formal adoption process,” said Mayor Jenny Selin.

Representatives of Rhodeside & Harwell, the City's consultant on the project, will be in attendance to answer questions and address concerns.

“We have enjoyed engaging with the residents of Morgantown and area stakeholders over the past year, and we look forward to hearing the community's feedback on draft recommendations,” said Ron Sessoms, a representative of Rhodeside & Harwell.

More information will be available when the draft has been reviewed and the adoption process has begun. The document will also be published to the  City of Morgantown's website when adoption is underway.
