Public Works Dept. Will Soon Resume Seasonal Christmas Tree Pickup & Drop-Off Service
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The City of Morgantown Public Works Department will once again be offering a Christmas tree pickup and drop-off service from January 2 to January 12, 2024.
Trees must be free of all decorations and lights to be eligible for drop-off and pickup.
Pickup service is available to all residents within city limits. Residents can call the City Garage at (304) 291-7465 to arrange a pickup at their address.
Pickups will occur on a ward-by-ward basis; each ward will have its Christmas trees picked up on a specific day of the week. The designated day for each ward is listed below, along with a map for reference.
In addition to pickup, all are permitted to drop off their trees at the City Garage until the 12th of January. Trees must be dropped off by the sign in the gravel lot outside of the fence.
Trees will be donated to the West Virginia DNR to enhance fish habitat in Cheat Lake, Tygart Lake and Jackson's Mill. To learn more, visit the WVDNR's website.
