Final Draft Analysis of White Park Cleanup Alternatives Available to Public
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The City of Morgantown (the 'City') is announcing that the final draft of its Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (the ‘ABCA’) for the White Park Southside (the 'site') is available for public review and comment until May 19th, 2024.
The site is a ~20-acre property located at 1001 Mississippi Street in Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia and formally served as part of a larger crude oil terminal in the late 19th and first half of the 20th centuries.
Preparation of the ABCA and its public release for comment is a requirement of the Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Cleanup Grant awarded to the City for cleanup of the site.
The document, as well as previous site investigation reports, a draft of the City's Community Involvement Plan for grant related activities, and other documents of interest can be reviewed at the City's Administrative Annex building located at 430 Spruce St. in Morgantown, WV. The City maintains regular office hours Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The City will also maintain a duplicate electronic copy of the documents on its website at morgantownwv.gov/671/White-Park which can be accessed continuously.
The two aforementioned locations will serve as the project's repository for its administrative record. Specific questions and/or comments can be addressed to Drew Gatlin, Staff Engineer for the City, at 304-284-7411 or via email to jgatlin@morgantownwv.gov.
