Email Scam Alert

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -  The City of Morgantown would like to address the fraudulent emails being sent to individuals involved with pending development applications or zoning map amendment requests. The fraudulent emails attempt to acquire payment for invoices related to these requests. The Department of Development Services and the Morgantown Planning Commission did not issue these emails or invoices to applicants, nor does the City of Morgantown accept payments using this method.

Any emails of this nature are a scam aimed at acquiring your financial information. Please do not reply to these emails or disclose any of your personal information.

Applicants may either pay fees through the Morgantown Cityworks Portal using their account information, or in person through our finance department. To access the portal, please use https://app03.cityworksonline.com/CLIENT_MorgantownWV-Public.
