City of Morgantown Partners with Mountain Line Transit Authority to Launch Access Pass Program
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The City of Morgantown is pleased to announce its participation in the Mountain Line Transit Authority's Access Pass Program, an initiative focused on connecting residents in need to essential services.
The Access Pass Program will provide citizens with single-use public transportation passes, enabling them to access crucial social service organizations without the barrier of transportation costs. The program underscores the city's commitment to ensuring that all community members have access to the resources they need in surrounding areas.
Beginning Dec. 1, 2024, passes will be distributed by the Morgantown Police Department, City Ambassadors, the Morgantown Library, and the Spruce Center. This collaborative effort strives to enhance community outreach and improve access to vital services for those who need them most.
"We are excited to launch this program and to provide this service," said Emily Muzzarelli, Morgantown’s Assistant City Manager. "Transportation can be a significant barrier for individuals seeking assistance. With the Access Pass Program, we are connecting people to the resources they need to better their lives.”
