Mon Power to Plant Celestial Dogwood in Morgantown Neighborhood

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Mon Power, in partnership with the City of Morgantown, is pleased to announce a tree planting event near the intersection of Willowdale Road and Grove Street. The event will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 10 a.m.

Through the Tree Line USA program, Mon Power will be donating a celestial dogwood, which will be delivered from Raemelton Farm by Mitchell Tree Care. The planting will occur in the neighborhood triangle near the welcome sign for Wiles Hill and Highland Park, a location that sees significant traffic from residents and visitors alike.

“This planting will be a wonderful addition and improvement for the heavily traveled Willowdale Road area,” said Morgantown's Urban Landscape Director Marchetta Maupin. “We hope the community will join us for this special event.”

Community members can join in this initiative to enhance the neighborhood’s greenery and promote environmental awareness by attending in person.
